Educational goals
This study program aims to educate graduates with sound theoretical and practical knowledge and skills to design modern control systems and their implementation and operation. Thus, the field aims not to teach students to design the robots themselves or their control systems but to gain sufficient knowledge of basic production processes and creative abilities to apply the above-mentioned automation elements at the user level. This study program offers the possibility of studying in two specializations. The first, "Industrial Automation", is more theoretically focused on the mathematical and physical nature of controlled systems, whose integral part are sensors and actuators, working on unambiguous physical principles, and own control systems, most often implemented by digital computers, performing control and regulation algorithms obtained by non-trivial mathematical methods and procedures. The second specialization, "Intelligent systems with robots," reflects the current trends of the industrial environment to apply mechatronic and robotic systems as much as possible in the design and implementation of production lines, which achieves a significantly higher degree of complex automation. In both specializations, the connecting element is information technology, both in terms of hardware and software.
Graduate profile
The graduate of this study program will gain the ability to apply comprehensive knowledge in measurement, control, and complex automation of production processes and production lines in various industries. He will be able to participate in implementing complex automation systems both in terms of their machine and instrument composition and custom programming of their control systems. During the study, he will acquire a theoretical basis, i.e., knowledge of mathematics, physics, computer and communication systems, algorithms and data structures, programming, analysis, and data processing, extended by basic technical knowledge further into theoretical and practical user areas of complex automation. The specificity of the specialization "Intelligent systems with robots" is to obtain a deeper education in the field of industrial robotics, i.e., the application of robotic systems directly in the environment of production lines and the control of material flows in them. The specificity of the specialization "Industrial Automation" is the acquisition of comprehensive knowledge and skills in the field of measurement technology, theory of automatic control, IT tools for the implementation of control systems, whether discrete or continuous, including knowledge of physical principles of selected technological processes. Graduates of such a study program will gain practical knowledge and skills in using various types of computer technology, which will be able to use for processing agendas and database information in a network environment. They will be able to do independent programming and system work associated with computer technology. They will be able to participate in creating projects of management and management of production and business organizations.
Expected career prospects
The graduate of this study program will gain the ability at the bachelor's level to apply their comprehensive knowledge in the field of measurement, control, and complex automation of production processes and production lines in various industries. He will be able to participate in the implementation of complex automation systems. Graduates can also apply in IT positions, are capable of independent programming and system work associated with computer technology, and participate in the creation of projects of management and administration of production and business organizations.
